FIAT

Fabbrica Italiana di Automobili Torino (FIAT) is a leading Italian automobile manufacturer and its logo has gone through radical changes through the years. “A” is a key characteristic of the logo, rendering an innovation in design.




Chronology of Logo Evolution



1899-1901

The company first logo bore Fabbrica Italiana di Automobili Torino(FIAT) text on the logo on a golden yellow colored background.
1901-1904

The next version has FIAT acronym as a prominent feature, but the full name remains as a part of design, the letters are laid on pentagon shaped background.

1904-1921

The next version has FIAT acronym on an oval plate shaped badge.
1921-1925

The next version has FIAT acronym on a wreathed circle shaped badge.
1925-1931
The next version has FIAT acronym on a wreathed circle shaped badge where colors are inverted from earlier version.
 1931-1932
The next version has FIAT acronym on a rectangle shaped badge where red and golden yellow are two colors seen in the design.
1932-1968
The next version has FIAT acronym on a shield shaped badge with same color schemes as before.
 
1968-1999
The next version badge has four blue rhombuses, each bearing each letter of FIAT, where blue and silver are chosen as colors in design.
 1999-2006
The next version is on wreathed circle to celebrate FIAT's 100th anniversary, where color traces from old version are still used.
 2006-Till Date
The next version is combination between a circle and a trapezium where silver and wine red are colors used.
